Q

What does it bind

5.4.4

A

It binds the sample DNA to a probe on the chip which can produce a signal that can be fluorescent or chemiluminescent

Q

I hat does it digitally analyses

5.4.4

A

It digitally analyses the chip to calculate the strength of the signal produced at each spot, with the strength of the signal representing the level of gene expression in the individual

Q

What do microarray chips consist of

A

A solid base such as glass or silicone onto which is attached a grid of thousands of microscopic spots or Wales. To each of the sports is added a different sequence of DNA, each of which can act as a DNA probe. Typically each board contains multiple copies of the identical DNA sequence.
