  1. lymphocytosis, neutropenia/thrombocytoepnia, hepatosplenomegaly
  2. Bolateral cervical LN, mainly posterior, red edematous pharynx, fever, MP rash
  3. EBV
  4. oro oral/sexual
  5. Monospot test, EBV serology: anti VCA IgM, PCR x EBV DNA
  6. Haemolytic anemia, hepatitis, myocarditis, mesenteric adenitis, post infectious neurological syndrome (GBS, CN palsies, meningoencephalitis), HLH in children, splenic rupture if massive
  7. Supportive, antipyretics, avoid excecise esp in children

  1. TOCC, date/duration of travel, accomodation, activities, insect bite, sexual hx, soil/ water contact, needle exposure
  2. malaria, dengue, typhoid, ricketssia, leptospirosis
  3. Thick/thin smear
  4. Artesunate + doxycycline (chloroquine/primaquine for non falciparum)
  5. Malarone, doxycycline

  1. insect bite, soil/water contact, accomodation, sexual history
  2. dengue, typhoid, paratyphoid, leptospirosis, malaria
  3. enteric fever: relative bradycardia, rose spots
  4. Blood and stool culture
  5. Ceftriiaxone, fluoroquinolone

If amoebic infection: tissue agent and luminal gent
Tissue agent (metronidazole) to treat tissue trophozoites, luminal agent (paramomycin) to remove intestinal cysts
