An authorised person may take a person into care and control if the authorised person is satisfied:
The person has a mental illness
Because of the persons apparent mental health illness, it is necessary to take the person into care and control to prevent serious and imminent harm to the person or to another person

An Authorised person may release a person from care and control if they are satisfied it is no longer necessary to prevent imminent and serious harm to themselves or others

PSOs may search a person they have taken into care and control that they SORG is carrying anything that presents a danger to the health and safety of them or others.
