MFR/INR Lab Flashcards
1
Q
Define MFR
A
System of diagnosis and treatment first described by AT Still and his early students, which engages continual palpatory feedback to achieve release of myofascial tissues
2
Q
Define INR
A
Treatment system in which combined procedures are designed to stretch and reflexively release patterned soft tissue and joint related restrictions
3
Q
What are the basics of MFR?
A
- Identify TART findings consistent with somatic dysfunction
- Evaluate the region in at least 3 dimensions and note findings
- Decide if the technique will be direct or indirect
- Stack the affected tissues in either direct or indirect fashion
- Hold/follow the tissues until tissue creep has occurred
- Recheck and repeat as necessary

Q
What are the basics of MFR with INR?
A
- Identify TART findings consistent with somatic dysfunction
- Evaluate the region in at least 3 dimensions and note findings
- Decide if the technique will be direct or indirect
- Stack the affected tissues in either direct or indirect fashion
- Use Release Enhancing Maneuver (REM); have the patient move a body region that will affect the musculature under the somatic dysfunction
- Hold/follow the tissues until tissue creep has occurred
- Recheck and repeat as necessary
