Mechanism of Action
Indications
Nausea, vomiting, migraine (consistent with diagnosis and previous hx of migraine)
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity
Side Effects / Precautions
Dystonic Reactions, fatigue, headache, dizziness, somnolence, restlessness, akathisia*
Adult Dose
N/V: 5 – 10 mg IV/IO/IM; May repeat once after 10 minutes if
nausea/vomiting persists
Migraine Pain: 10 mg IV/IO infusion over 15 minutes or 10 mg IM
Pediatric Dose
No pediatric Dose recommended
Max adult Dose (Max pedi dose)
Onset of Action
1-3 min (IV, ); 10-15 min (IM); 30-60 min (PO)
Duration of Effects
1-2 hours regardless of route
