Advantages of email
Files can be attached to an email.
Email can be sent at any time of the day or night, 365 days of the year.
A carbon copy of an email can be sent to others (cc).
Disadvantages of email
If you don’t know the email address of the other person you can’t send them a message.
Email attachments may contain a virus.
Your business email may be copied fraudulently by “scammers” and affect your reputation.
Benefits of social media
Reach a worldwide audience.
Advertise/promote their products.
Allows customers to contact the organisation with a complaint/suggestion.
Post updates about competitions.
Conduct market research through online surveys.
Low cost to set up an account.
Disadvantages of social media
You can only target people who follow you.
Customer complaints are made in public.
