why may interviews not be accurate?
-they may give the answer the researcher wants to hear. They may suggest their views through the tones of their questions

ad:
- high response rate
- can put answers into own words
- allows more personal questions
- high validity
dis:
- inteviewer needs to be skilled at interviewing
- interview bias
- recording answers can be tricky(writing down answers may put off resopondent, tape recorder may be time consuming bc you have to listen it later)
- time consuming large numbers cant be interviwed
- low reliability
what do you have to consider when doing observation?
- if the group observing will be aware
- if the researcher is taking part

- if its unethical

what is content analysis?
detailed analysis of 1 or more examples of the media in order to find out how a particular group is being portrayed
different types of sample
stratified: sampling frame is divided(age,gender) and a random sample is drawn from each
systematic: regular parrtern
quota: sets out to find a certain amount of people (eg.10 boys)
