Anorexia nervosa
Eating disorder characterized by extreme starvation and weight loss.
ADHD
Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Mental disorder characterized by difficulty staying focused, difficulty paying attention, and hyperactivity.
Bipolar disorder
Mental disorder characterized by extreme mood swings that include emotional highs and lows.
Bulimia nervosa
Eating disorder characterized by eating large amounts of food and then purging.
CBT
Cognitive behavioral therapy. Treatment that focuses on changing an individual’s thoughts in order to change their behavior and emotional state.
Depression
A mental illness that causes persistent feelings of sadness that infers with daily activities for a prolonged period of time.
Generalized anxiety disorder
A disorder characterized by prolonged worrying and tension.
Obsessive-compulsive disorder
Excessive thoughts that lead to repetitive behaviors.
Postpartum depression
Depression that occurs after childbirth.
PTSD
Post-traumatic stress disorder. An anxiety disorder that can develop after a person is exposed to a traumatic event.
Schizophrenia
Mental disorder characterized by abnormal social behavior and difficulty distinguishing what is real.
