offer energy and protein dense foods that are easily consumed on the go (finger foods)

provide safe environment set limits on manipulative behaviors provide finger foods and fluids re-channel energy for physical activity decrease stimuli
tx for schizophrenic pts
meds (antipsychotics, antidepressants, mood stabilizers, benzos)

NI for schizophrenic pts
- establish trust
- encourage med complicance
- promote self care
- encourage group activities
- therapeutic comm
- bring conversations back to reality
- don’t argue w patient
ECT
- client will not remember and is unaware of the procedure
- muscle relaxants may be given to decr seizure activity and decr risk for injury
- may have memory loss, confusion and headache post procedure
communication w pt with alzheimers + meds
- speak slowly
- give one direction at a time
- don’t ask complex or open-ended qs
- simple and direct questions
- face client directly when they are speaking
