Between of femoral condyle and tibial plateau
Medial C shaped and lateral O shaped
Held to femur by lig of wristberg and Humphrey
Held to tib plateau by ant and lost horn
Attached together by transverse lig
Medial attached to joint capsule- less mobile, easy damage

Red white between has traits of both
White white inner section is a vascular- poor healing etc

Meniscus tear classifications (5)

A
  • vertical longitudinal- can be asymptomatic, no flaps
  • vertical radial - cause knee locking, flaps
  • horizontal -mechanically stable, split into upper and lower
  • oblique- flaps get caught and lock
  • complex- multiple tears

Resection Surgery if flaps cause locking
