definition:
chronic Dz of inner ear characterized by vertigo, tinnitus, hearing loss
etiology:
1) KID ess XU (sex, illness) —> fail to nourish brain/yin xu leads to yang shi then disturbs clear orfice—>vertigo
2) LIV yang rising (stress, anger)—>LIV Qi stg—>fire—> dist. clear orfice
3) Qi/blood XU (diet, overthink, cold drugs)—> SP/ST weak—>D—>PH—>block MJ
4) Obsrtuction of trubid PH
Obstruction of turbid PH SX:
heavy head, chest tightness, vomit PH, nausea, loss appetite
QI/blood XU SX:
poor appetite, loose stool, palpitations, SOB, listlessness
KID ess XU SX:
low back/knee pain, dizziness, tinnitus
LIV yang rising SX:
irritability, anger, hypochondriac pain
patterns:
1) KID ess xu
2) LIV yang raising
3) Qi/blood xu
4) Obstruction of turbid PH
DX:
rule out: HTN, brain injury, other illness (common cold)
differentiate XU/SHI:
XU vs SHI
chronic/recurrent acute
long short
mild dizziness severe dizziness
SOB, listlessness vomit PH
palpitations
P=deep, thin, weak P=strong, wiry, rapid
POT
attack (SHI): transform PH/subdue yang, reduce, 1/day, use shaoyang/taiyang points
remission (XU): tonify KID ess/tonify Qi/blood, tonify
points:
GB-20/DU-20 (dizziness/vertigo)
SI-19 (dizziness, vertigo)
PC-6 (nausea)
LIV-3, SP-6, LI-4
KID ess XU points:
moxa RN-4/6
