stops the heart
Amiodarone
anti-arrhythmic - slows sinus rate and prolongs PR and QT intervals
Atropine
anti-arrhythmic- increases HR, dries secretions
Lidocaine
anti-arrhythmic - controls ventricular arrhythmias
Lanoxin
increase cardiac output and slows HR
Beta Blockers
(olol) slows HR reducing BP
Calcium channel blockers
(pines) dilates blood vessels reducing BP
Ace inhibitors
(prils) lowers BP
chlordiazepoxide
antianxiety agents. sedative/hypnotics, treatment of alcohol withdrawal
carBAMazepine
anticonvulsants, mood stabilizers, anti-seizure, tx of bipolar
lithium
mood stabilizers - take 3x q day, expect weight gain, tremors and increase in BP, normal range is < 0.5
Lipid lowering agents
(statins) - decreased cholesterol
flumazenil
antidote for benzo overdose
naloxone
antidote for opioids
haloperidol
fluphenazine
chlorpromazine
first gen (typical) antipsychotics, decrease dopamine monitor for EPS
