target Her2 (trastauzamab herceptin) EGFR (cetuximab) RANKL
Biotherapy: monoclonal antibodies
activate pathways cause apoptosis
biotherapy: protein targeted therapy
interact with target proteins inside cells
biotherapy: angiogenesis inhibitors
bevacizumab (avastin) targets VEGF
biotherapy: cytokines
interleukin 2 or interferon

aramidex
Hormone therapy
Lupron
Alimta
350-1000 mcg folic acid and B12 injections
Cisplatin
highly emetogenic: delayed n/v: omega 3 and turmeric may increase benefit
hydration important
carboplatin
highly emetogenic - delayed n/v
cyclophosphamide
3L water/day empty bladder 2-3x even at night
capecitabine (xeloda)
give with food and water, B6 (50-100 mg 2-3x/day may help hand foot syndrome)
cetuximab (erbitux)
magnesium and calcium could ddrop
Doxorubicin
omega 3, theanine, coq10 may benefit
gemcitabine
**
ifosfamide
**
fluorouracil
damages GI tract, melt ice chips ac/pc chemo to decrease muscositis, B6 to reduce hand foot syndrome
MTX
mouth sores and diarrhea likely- no multis with folic acid, damages GI tract, no alcohol
cytarabine
diarrhea
camptosar
diarrhea that can be treated with atropine, damages GI tract, omega 3 may reduce toxicity
oxaliplatin (eloxatin)
sensitive to cold; B6 for hand foot syndrome
Paclitaxel
omega 3 may reduce toxicity
procarbazine
avoid foods high in tyramine for 2 weeks after, avoid caffeine and alcohol
Tamoxifen
avoid antacids within 2 hrs, avoid CYP3a4 inducers (st johns wort, phenobarbital) and inhibitors (grapefruit juice, erythromycin)
inhibitors increase drug action while inducers decrease
velcade

draws waters and stimulate peristalsis
Mg Citrate
draws water and stimulates peristalsis
