- a type of imaging that visualizes the spaces inside blood vessels by injecting them with a radio-opaque contrast matrial (typically something iodine-based), then taking x-rays.
- this is commonly done to see the coronary arteries of the heart, or the blood vessels in the brain, to detect narrowing or obstruction
- technically there are arteriograms and venograms
