What are the HQ section responsibilities?
- Mission command
- Manages the BTN evac assets
- including coordinating MEDEVAC - Manages the BTN med log
- Manages the plt maintenance program
- Develops the BTN FHP/HSS plan
- Normally co-located w a tx squad to form the BAS
What are the HQ section capabilities?
- Maintain mission command through BFT, FM radio, telecoms, MIRc
- FHP reporting (DNBI, class VIII)
- Conduct MDMP through coordinating w TF logistics Officer (S4) and operations Officer (S3, FHP planning)
Tx Squad Responsibilities
- Role I med care:
- triage
- emergency Med Tx (EMT)
- advanced Trauma Mgmnt (ATM)
- sick call
- Limited PM and COSC support - Establish and operate BAS in direct support of BTN units
What does the tx squad treat out of?
They treat out of MES sets
- 2x TCMC tactical combat medic care
- 2x chemical agent tx
- 1x chemical agent decon
What are the BN surgeon responsibilities?
- Role 1 med care
- triage
- emt
- atm
- sick call
- combat stress - Advises the btn commander in regards to the health of the command and med threats
- Coordinates and oversees all med tx to include:
- CLS, 68W sustainment
- medical CEUs (continuing ed) - Operates BAS in direct support of btn units
- Assumes the role as med platoon leader prn
- Oversees field med record maintenance
What are the BTN PA responsibilities?
- Provide role 1 med care
- triage
- emt
- atm
- sick call
- Combat stress control - Assists surgeon in overseeing all med tx to include
- CLS
- 68W sustainment
- medical CEUs - Operates BAS in direct support of BTN units
What are the evacuation section responsibilities?
- Provide med evac from CCP and enroute care to BAS
- Provide Med evac and enroute care on area basis w/in BTN AOR (from BAS)
- works with the Line Medics/Trauma Specialists to assist company FHP/HSS plan
- Conduct Class VIII resupply from BAS
- Maintain mission readiness of ambulances
