  1. Pt. must be on injectable therapy and not oral therapy for refusal
  2. Pt. is at least 18 years old with a GCS of 15
  3. After repeat assessment, blood sugar level is with in an acceptable range
  4. no signs and symptoms of illness
  5. patient must be observed to eat without vomiting and can be supervised by a responsible adult
  6. pt. must not be driving a vehicle or operating machinery.
