Medical Cardiac Arrest - Mandatory Patch Point (when?)
If patch fails?
BHP after 3 rounds of epinephrine OR if no IV/IO/CVAD/ETT access after 3rd analysis
Patch Fails: Transport - after 4th epinephrine or 4th analysis if no access
When is transport considered after 1st anaylsis?
- Pregnancy ≥ 20 weeks
- Hypothermia
- Airway Obstruction (unless able to clear)
- Suspected Pulmonary Embolism
- Medication Overdose / Toxicology
- Other known reversible cause of arrest not addressed
When are Antiarrhythmics to be administrated?
Vfib and Vtach that is refractory or recurrent following defibrillation.
is indicated following the shock if the patient had been previously defibrillated or following a second defibrillation if none delivered previously.
If delayed more than **____ ** minutes for IV or IO access the ETT may be used for medication administration.
Delayed more than 5 Minutes
IV and IO are preferred sites
