How do you landmark proximal tibia site?
- Rotate leg externally
- Find medial and lateral condyles of tibia
- Find tibial crest and tibial tuberosity
- Insertion site 1 - 2 fingers below and medial of tibial tuberosity
How do you landmark proximal Humerus site?
- Internally rotate shoulder
- Find Greater tuberosity by sliding fingers up surgical neck of humerus
- Insert needle at 45 degree angle
What are 3 common IO needle Sizes and Colours?
- Pink - 15mm
- Blue - 25mm
- Yellow - 45mm

After inserting IO needle into skin what marker MUST be present prior to drilling?
5mm marker at top of needle
