What are the two measures of dispersion?

A

Range: Differences between hightest/lowest value + 1, does not include all scores in it’s calculation

Standard deviation: Average that scores deviate from the mean, can be distorted by extreme values

What are the three measures of central tendency?

A

Mean: arithmetic average, can be distorted by extreme value
Median: Middle value when scores are arranged in order, less sensitive to the mean
Mode: Most frequently occuring value, unrepresentative of data as a whole
