- Controlled conditions
3
Q
What is a Natural experiment?

- IV changes without experimentor’s intervention, reasearcher records effects on the DV.
- No random allocation
- Provides oppurtunities for research that otherwise may not be undertaken for ethical or practical reasons. High external validity
- Naturally occurring event may only happen very rarely

Q
What are Lab Experiments?
A
Strength: Maximun control
Weakness: Contrived setting
5
Q
What is a Fields experiment?
A
Strength: More natural setting
Weakness: Less control of extraneous variables
