Measurement at the shoulder
Shoulder flexion
Client sitting (or supine); hips and knees flexed, feet flat
Palm and forearm pronated
Range 0-180 degrees
Measuring at the elbow
Elbow flexion Range 0-145 degrees Supine or sitting Forearm in anatomical position Arm close to the trunk
Wrist measurement
Wrist flexion
Sitting
Elbow flexed, forearm supported on the table (mid-prone position), fingers relaxed
Range 0 –90 degrees from anatomical position
Measuring hip ROM
Hip flexion Supine Opposing limb flat on table Flex knee when hip flexes Range 0 to 115/125 degrees
