What does the term restorative in dentistry mean?
Its the ability to remove decay from a diseased tooth.
What does the term esthetic mean in dentistry?
Its when teeth are recreated to look artistically pleasing.
What is biting and chewing force?
Its what takes place when the posterior teeth push or pull with pressure among each other.
What is stress?
Its the internal reaction or resistance of an extremely applied force.
What is strain?
Its the change or deformation of a restorative material as a result of stress.
What is microleakage?
Microscopic space that’s located at the interface of the tooth structure and the sealant or restoration.
What is malleability?
Its the ability of a material to withstand permanent deformation under compressive stress without sustaining permanent damage.
What is percolation?
Its the process of a liquid substance passing through a porous substance.
What is galvanic?
Its an electrical current that takes place when two different metals come together.
What is tarnish?
A surface discoloration.
What is adhere?
To stick or glue two unlike items together.
What is wetting?
Its the ability of a liquid to flow over a surface and come into contact with small irregularities that may be present.
What is viscosity?
Its the property of a liquid that causes it not to flow easily.
What is retention?
The ability to hold two things firmly together when they will not adhere to each other naturally.
