MCP Flashcards
Do you have auto throttles with a dual FMC failure?
no
DO you have auto throttles with more than one engine INOP?
no
Between what airspeed and altitude will the auto throttles not activate?
- greater than 50 knots until 400 feet RA on takeoff
- 2 seconds after less than 5 feet RA on landing
- 3 seconds after greater than 5 feet RA on go around
How could you re-engage the auto throttles if they become disconnected in flight?
- if ALT, V/S, or G/S: press the SPD switch
- if anything else, recycle A/T arm switch
When would you use the THR switch?
- airport not in database
- to select CLB after takeoff or go around
- to select CON after TO with an engine failure after V1 and air speed < VREF +98
What HYD system powers the L/C/R autopilots?
3/1/2
In which pitch mode do you not have speed protection?
V/S
With a dual FMC failure, what pages are available on the FMS-CDU?
ALTN NAV PROG
ALTN NAV LEGS
ALTN NAV NAV RAD
With a dual FMC failure, is LNAV and VNAV available?
no
With a dual FMC failure, do the CDUs communicate with each other?
no
With a dual FMC failure, do the autopilots work?
yes
With a dual FMC failure, could you do an auto land?
yes
With a dual FMC failure, how would you get flaps speeds?
performance index of QRH
When does the FMC transition to on approach logic?
- a published instrument approach has been selected and incorporated in the active flight plan and the airplane has sequenced the first waypoint on the published approach
- a VFR approach has been created and the airplane has sequenced the FAXXX or the airplane is enroute a direct-to or intercept to the runway waypoint and the airplane is within 25nm from the runway threshold
When do you set the missed approach altitude during a VNAV approach?
- prior to the MDA +50 feet (or DA)
- at least 300 feet below the missed approach altitude
