What happens when you pull an engine fire switch?
- closes engine and spar fuel valves
- closes engine bleed valve
- trips engine generator

- arms both fire extinguishers on the related wing
How many fire bottles for the engine are there?
two on each wing
What type of fire detection do the engines have?
dual loop (“and” system)
Will I get a fire warning for an engine overheat?
no, you would get an overhead warning
What type of detection do I have for a cargo fire?
dual loops. 4 loops in each lower compartment, 16 in the main deck
It uses sample air from the center bleed air duct
What happens when I push the CARGO FIRE ARMED switch for the main deck?
- enables main deck fire suppression
- turns off 2 packs
- turns off all airflow and heat to the main deck and lower cargo compartments
- closes master trim air valve
- configures equipment coming to the “closed loop” mode
What happens when you push the CARGO FIRE ARMED switch for the FWD or AFT?
- turns off 2 packs
- arms lower lobe cargo compartment fire extinguishers
- closes master trim air valve ad cuts off all airflow to the lower cargo compartments
- configures equipment cooling to the “override” mode
What happens when you press the CARGO FIRE DEPRESS/DISCH switch?
Main Deck: initiates cabin depressurization to a cabin altitude of 25,000
FWD or AFT: initiates fire extinguishing (2 bottles immediately, other 4 after a brief delay or upon touchdown for a total of 334 minutes)
