Complementary angles
angles whose sum is 90°
Supplementary angles
angles whose sum is 180°
Parallel lines
a pair of lines that never intersect (always the same distance apart)
Transversal
a special name for a line that intersects 2 other lines
Corresponding angles
angles in the same location (always a pair)
Alternate interior angles
(“feuding angles”) a pair of angels that are between the parallel lines, on opposite sides of the transversal (not adjacent)
Interior angles
pair of angles that are between the parallel lines, but on the same side of the transversal
Perpendicular
when two lines meet at a right angle
Adjacent angles
a pair/group of angles that share a common line
Opposite angles
a pair of angles that are across from each other
Congruent
When two lines or geometric objects are the same
Equal
objects; exact same (on top of one another because they have the same placement, same size, same shape)
quantities; equal to one another
