Math Chapter 10 Flashcards
Perpendicular bisector of a chord
If one chord is a perpendicular bisector of another chord, then the first chord is a diameter.
Minor arcs and their chord
In the same circle, or in congruent circles, two minor arcs are congruent iff their corresponding chords are congruent.
Diameter perpendicular to a chord
If a diameter of a circle is perpendicular to a chord, then the diameter bisects the chord and its arc.
Chords equidistant from the center
In these circle, or in congruent circles, two chords are congruent iff get are equidistant from the center.
Proving Tangent
In a plane, a line is tangent to a circle iff the line is perpendicular to the radius of a circle at its endpoint of the circle.
Tangents from a common pt.
Tangent segments from a common external point are congruent
Congruent circles and congruent arcs(not thm)
Circles are congruent if the radii are congruent.
Arcs are congruent if they have the same measure within the same circle or in congruent circles.
