- Remodel scar tissue when required

Psychological effects of massage?
- Relaxation
- Stress
- Mental preparation for sport
Therapeautic effects of massafe on connective tissue, muscle and pain?
Connective tissue- restore mobility, promote remodeling, maintains pliability/ length.
Muscle- decrease muscle soreness, decrease muscle tension/spasm
Pain- reduce pain, pain gate mechanism, increas circulation which reduction in noxious stimuli
Contraindication of mechanical massage.
Absolute- open wound, presence of malignant tumours, inadequate blood suppy, acute injuries- haematoma, fracture sites, skins conditions- burns/infections, suspected DVT, active conditions- infection/RA
Potential- fragile skin, heart problems- avoids chest/ neck and care in thoracic spine, osteoporosis
