its based on the model that society has a direct influence on individuals

- the superstructure = the institutions that make up society

how does Marx explain his two tier model?
- the economic base has a direct impact on the superstructure
- = institutions work to serve capitalism and RC
how does the education system work to serve capitalism?
- it prepares workers to ‘know their place’
- and allocates individuals in to roles that help serve the capital system
- whilst reinforcing false class conciousness
how does the education system prepare workers to know their place?
through the correspondence principle
how does capitalism generate inequality?
because the bourgeoisie own the means of production so they can employ those who dont (the proletariat)
