A

1) reduce power to 1600 RPM
2) Maintain Altitude as aircraft slows
3) When AS in white arc, selected flaps 40 by pausing at the 10 and 25 positions for 1-2 seconds

Short Field TO procedure

A

actual 50’ obstacle on departure with 17 knot crosswind
*flaps 25 and trim set o 2 turns nose up past neutral
1) lineup on runway ceterline, FINAL CLEAR, HEADING MATCHES RUNWAY, ailerons positioned into wind
2) hold brakes, set full power, check engine instruments POWER SET, ENGINE INSTRUMENTS GREEN,
3) release brakes hand on throttle until 500AGL or more AIRSPEED ALIVE
4) rotate 55
5) climb at 60
6) 50’ clear of obstacle, accerlerate at 76 and retract flaps (reduce pitch, ‘WHITE ARC, FLAPS 10’ WHITE ARC, FLAPS 0”
7) at 500 AGL, climb flow

Q

Visual Approach
- Traffic pattern

A

1) enter traffic pattern at 90kias and 1000 AGL
2) identify touchdown point and key altitudes and select an aim point
downwind: 1000agl
turning base: 700agl
turning final: 350agl
3) abeam the touchdown (3 mile final)
1000agl
1600rpm, flaps 10, descent 350
4) 45 degree past touchdown point (2 mile final)
700agl
flaps 25
turn base
maintain 350fpm
begin slowing to Vref
5) approaching turn to final (or 1 mile final)
350agl
flaps 40
begin turn to final
maintain Vref and wind gust factor

Vref normal: 66
Vshort: 58

Q

Steep Turn

A

1) select entry altitude and visual referece, and clear the area
- pre manv check and area for traffic
- set reference point, note heading, and set heading bug
2) CLEAN CONFIG 90
3) perform steep turn 360
- add 10% RPM
-establish 45 AOB
- passing 30 AOB, trim 1.5 turns nose up
- adjust power and pitch to maintain 90kias and entry altitude
- 20 prior to entry heading, begin smooth rollout so that ac is level when reaching entry heading
4) repeat steep turn in opposite direction
- wait for ac altitude and heading to stabilize, fwd pressure needed to maintain altitude because of trim used during steep turn
5) resume normal cruise flight at 90kias

Q

Power off Stall

A

1) complete manevering tasks
2) set to landing configs
3) maintain heading and altitude as AC slows down to 70kias
4) at 70, pitch down to begin normal descent
5) once stablized, power to idle and pitch up to induce stall
6) announce buffet, horn, stall
7) recovery: add fulll power, level wings, reduce AOA to approx -2 pitch
*set a pitch attitude for Vy climb, avoid secondary stall,
at Vy, retract flaps to 25, at 64 flaps10, at 76, flaps 0 and climb to entry altitude

Q

Power On Stall

A

1) Complete pre manuver tasks
2) Configure the ac in CLEAN config
3) maintain hdg and altitude as AC slows to 60 KIAS (increase pitch)
4) at vr 60, set pitch to +20 and full power with rudder
5) do not begin recovery till AC is fully stalled
6) recovery by level wings using aileron and rudder, and reduce AOA pitch
7) return to normal clim attitude, airspeed and config

Q

Rectangular course

A

1) complete pre-manuver tasks
2) clean config at 90KIAS
3) enter downwind at 45 angle, 1000 AGL, and 1/2 mile from reference line
4) identify where reference line crosses under the wing
5) maintain altitude, airspeed and distance from reference line
6) abeam reference line, establish approx 30-45 AOB and continue turn for 90
7) continue steps 5/6 until established on the downwind leg again
8) resume cruise flight at 90KIAS

Q

Turns around a point

A

1) complete pre maneuver tasks
2) clean config at 90KIAS
3) enter downwind at 1000AGL, 1/2mile from point
4) abeam point, approx 30-45AOB
5) matain distance from point by changing bank:
too close, reduce bank,
too far, increase bank
6) maintain altitude with pitch and airspeed with power
7) after 2 complete turns, exit and resume cruise flight at 90KIAS

Q

What are clearing turns?

A

to ensure area is clear of traffic that may opse a collision hazard, 2 90 degree clearing turns must be performed before every maneuver

17
Q

What is the minimum entry altitue for manuvers?

A

Ground referece: 1000 AGL
Others: 1500 AGL
