Railroad system that spanned across the US, connecting the east and west coasts. Allowed for faster and more efficient transportation of people, goods, and resources.

Impact on Native Americans
Native American tribes were forced from their lands, leading to the loss of their territories, resources, and their way of life. Many experienced violence, forced removals, and broken treaties.
Impact on Chinese
Chinese immigrants came to the US seeking economic opportunities, especially during the Gold Rush and the construction of the transcontinental railroad. They faced harsh working conditions nd discrimination. The Chinese Exclusion Act restricted immigration and denied them citizenship rights.
Impact on Women
Women’s suffrage movement began during this time. Women fought for more rights.
