what is a manager?
A manager is in charge of non managerial employees and oversee that the main goals of the organisation are met.
What is a non-managerial employee?
a non-managerial employee is an employee who works on specific tasks and reports back to their manager in charge.
what titles do managers have?
- top managers: make decisions about the direction of an organisation
- middle managers: manage other managers
- first line managers: direct non-managerial employees
- team leaders: manage activities of a work team
what is management?
management is the process of getting things done effectively and efficiently, through and with people
what is efficiency?
doing things right or getting the most output from the least amount of inputs
what is effectiveness?
doing the right things, or completing activities so that organisational goals are attained.
which management style is better?
Both are important for good management as good management is concerned with attaining goals (effectiveness) and doing so as efficiently as possible
