classical management
used a standard scientific approach at managment to motivate, improve efficiency & labour productivity through scientific methods. Taylor said that workers could be rebooted like machines. Demonstrated the importance of money in boosting performance.

runs on an impersonal, rational basis. Managers use power to delegate and this system runs on rules and records to ensure the smooth flow of the business.

focused on finding a way to organize the organization as a whole - has a formalized administrative structure, clear division of labour & delegation of power
