What happens if you eat too much of a nutrient in general?
you gain weight and get diseases and complications etc….
What happens if you eat too little of a nutrient in general?
you lose weight and can get a deficiency disease
What happens if you eat too much fat/carbohydrates?
You can gain weight due to excessive storage of fat or carbohydrates. If this happens constantly, you could get heart disease or type 2 diabetes
What happens if you eat too little of fat/carbohydrates?
You don’t get enough energy and become tired often
What happens if you eat too little of protein?
Especially if this was a child, this would affect growth and repairment throughout the body and you could have a bloated stomach. This defiency disease is called kwashiorkor.
What happens if you eat too little of vitamins/minerals?
difency dieseases such as iron difency
What happens if you have too much of salt?
It can raise your blood pressure and cause health problems
What happens if you have too much of saturated fat?
It can block our arteries if you had an overtake, resulting in heart attacks
What happens if you have too much of fibre?
You get constipated and you are unable to poo
What happens if you have too little of iron?
You get anaemia and feel tired all the time
What happens if you have too little of calcuim?
You get rickets. this can be from brittle (and/or) bendy bones.
What happens if you have too little of vitamin c?
you get scruvy. this can be from bleeding gums
What happens if you have too little of vitamin d?
you get rickets and it affects growth for children (and/or) bendy bones
