Training of employees that happens outside of the business

More flexible more productive

may take longer than for more training

Personal qualities that are needed for the job- caring

Academic degree is needed
What is motivation?
Internal or external influences that stimulate desire and energy for people to work hard in a job
How can businesses keep employees motivated?
Retrain employees- with new job something new keeps them entertained reduces job recruitment costs
Increase productivity -new high quality raw materials 
What are the positives of having motivated employees?
More productive workforce
less stress
reduction of staff loss

Remuneration- Money given to an employee of the hard work like a raise
Commission employee gets
Rewarded for every product sold
Bonus- given when a certain target is met
Promotion -when an employee gives a higher role which comes with a higher pay

Fringe benefits- items or services given to employees to get them motivated like having a free salad bar or at open gym

A job filled by somebody who is already in the organisation

Saves on retraining costs

saves cost on advertisements already know the strengths

May be unable to find people with the right skills may miss out on opportunities
May cause conflict within the workplace if two employees are going head-to-head

Employing somebody outside of your organisation

Takes very long and it’s expensive

Retention - Employees feel more valued business likely to leave and find another organisation saves costs on recruitment
