How would you dewater Stern Thruster?
- Open the Discharge - T-handle on deck in Port 6 man in front of the head.
- Open the Supply (firemain) - Firemain valve on bulkhead above stern thruster.
- Open the Suction - T-handle’s on deck port side of stern thruster hatch.
A. One is a suction point
B. One is an eductor
How would you dewater MMR?
- Open the Discharge - MMR first level, port side, in between SSDGs.
- Open the Supply - MOV log office
- Open the Suction - MOV port side power MMR outboard the FOP
a. Remote valve on deck in MMR vestibule
b. Remote valve on deck under mess deck table
How would you dewater AMR?
- Open the Discharge - MOV port side upper AMR outboard of chill water pumps)
- Open the Supply - MOV Port 4 Man
- Open the Suction - MOV port side lower AMR next to gray water tank
A. Remote valve on deck in front of Aft AFFF tank
B. Remote valve on deck in center 4 man head
- Valve to open flow from MMR for suction by white thing in ceiling with holes
- Can activate from ECC
How would you dewater SORS Cargo?
- Discharge - can use AMR or MMR. If you use AMR you need to open the valve from AMR to MMR and open valve from MMR into SORs cargo (in MMR lower level, forward bulkhead).
- Fire Main - same as AMR/MMR
- Suction - main valve down in aft bulkhead of sors cargo. Two remote suction valves, one on each catwalk.

- Chain Bin
- Discharge - Behind RO (potable water pump room)
- Fire main - Right in front of armory
- Suction - Bow thruster and chain locker only spaces with remote valve. These are in p-way in front of DC shop.
** First open main suction valve by eductor in potable pump room. Then open appropriate valves on tree.
Forward Drainage Tree
Cargo Hold - 2 valves
Chain Bins - 2 valves
Mag 1 - 1 valve
Mag 2 - 1 valve
Chain Locker - 1 valve and 1 remote valve (in front of forward AFFF on deck)
Bow Thruster - 1 valve and 1 remote (in front of forward AFFF on deck)
Suction Hose - 1 valve
1. In middle mag space (valve only)
2. In cargo hold (hose in cargo) (1 valve & 1 hose)
3. BOSN store room ( 1 valve & 1 hose)
4. Bow Thruster (1 valve & 1 hose) (valve is behind forward HPU, stand side)
What is the order to line up drainage?
Discharge / Firemain / Suction
How would you dewater the magazines?
- Open the discharge - Port side in the potable water pump room by RO’s
- Open the Supply - Firemain valve between armory and DC shop.
- Open the Suction -
A. Open eductor port side in the potable

B. Open valve at the manifold
What is the order to line up drainage?
Discharge

How would you dewater Cargo?
- Open the Discharge - Port side in the potable water pump room by RO’s)
- Open the Supply - Firemain valve between armory and DC shop.
- Open the Suction.
A. Open eductor port side potable water
Pump room.
B. Open valve in Cargo, forward bulkhead, up

How would you dewater the chain bin?
- Open the Discharge - Port side in the potable water pump room
- Open the Supply - Firemain valve between armory and DC shop.
- Open the Suction
A. Open eductor port side in portable water pump room.
B. Open valve on deck outside DC shop
C. Open valve at the manifold.
How would you dewater Bow Thruster?
- Open the Discharge - port side in the potable water pump room.
- Open the Supply - Firemain valve between armory and and DC shop.
- Open the Suction
A. Open eductor port side in the potable
Water pump room.
B. Remote valve on deck next to fed AFFF
Tank.
C. Open valve at manifold.
How would you dewater the chain locker?
- Open the Discharge - Port side in potable water pump room
- Open the Supply - Firemain between armory and DC shop.
- Open the Suction

B. Remote valve on deck between armory
And DC shop
C. Open valve at manifold
Where are the forward drainage hose connections?
Cargo hold, magazine sprinklers, bow thruster, bosn storage 2
Where are the main drainage hoses located?
Cargo by the hose station
Bow Thruster by the ladder
BOSN storage #2 by the locker
How would you dewater using the hose stations?
- Open the Discharge - port side in the potable water pump room
- Open the Supply - Firemain valve between armory and DC shop.
- Open the Suction
A. Open eductor port side potable water
Pump room
B. Open desired valve on valve tree in
Potable water pump room
C. Open desired valve between Suction point
And the valve on tree.
What are the Forward, Main and Aft drainage systems rated at (gallons per minute)?
Forward - 185 gallons per minute
Main - 205 gallons per minute
Aft - 60 gallons per minute
