Does the oily water system use eductors?
No. It collects oily bilge water in a tank for processing.
How eductors work? What should you never do when operating eductors?
- Fire main provides water flow through the eductor creating a low pressure vacuum effect. This draws the surrounding water out through the eductor into the overboard discharge piping system.
- Never operate in a closed space with personnel inside because the negative pressure could possibly over power their lungs causing asphyxiation.

What are the proper steps to operating the drainage system?
- Turn on fire pump
- Open the overboard discharge
- Open the fire main supply valve to the eductor.
- Open the suction valves to the space to be dewatered.

- AFFF hose stations
How much do each of the fixed AFFF tanks hold?
Forward AFFF - 40 gallons

- White power light indicates power is available to the system.
- Red pre-discharge light flashes when the CO2 system has been activated.
- Red discharge light flashes when CO2 starts flooding the compartment.
