A
He had a solid craft approach
Like Webb, his architectural precursors were the Gothic Revivalists.
He believed that modern materials such as iron and glass will take place over stone because of a want of mass.

the west facade as finally completed, represents Mackintosh at the height of his power - in no other work did he achieve such authority and grandeur.
