Literature
Literally translated, the word literature means
acquaintance with letters” (as in the “arts and letters”)
The two most basic written literary categories include
fiction and non fiction.
A literary work whose content is produced by the imagination and is not necessarily based on fact.
NON-FICTION
comprising works of narrative prose dealing with or offering opinions or conjectures upon facts and reality.
Literature
a fictitious prose narrative of considerable length and complexity, portraying characters and usually presenting a sequential organization of action and scenes.
novel
an invented prose narrative shorter than a novel usually dealing with a few characters and aiming at unity of effect and often concentrating on the creation of mood rather than plot.
short story

is the representation of a person in a narrative or dramatic work of art (such as a novel, play, or film).
character
is a main idea, moral, or message, of an essay, paragraph, movie, book or video game.
theme
refers to the technique or the manner that the artist uses to express his vision and ideas in the form of writing or sometimes speaking.
Language and Style
refers to the vantage point from which the characters, action, and events are seen.
Point of View
is a literary term for the events a story comprises, particularly as they relate to one another in a pattern, a sequence, through cause and effect, or by coincidence. One is generally interested in how well this pattern of events accomplishes some artistic or emotional effect.
Plot
It is defined as the problem in any piece of literature and is often classified according to the nature of the protagonist or antagonist.
conflict
a short literary composition that reflects the author’s personality.
