What are the three theories of truth?
(1) Correspondence Theory, (2) Coherence Theory, (3) Pragmatic Theory
States that a proposition is true if it is corresponding to the facts
Correspondence Theory
If a proposition coheres with all the other propositions taken to be true, then it is true
Coherence Theory
A statement is true if it is useful or practical to believe
Pragmatic Theory
They contain ideas or information that are easily verifiable
Fact
Personal beliefs, judgements that reflect an individual’s perspectives, preference, or subjective viewpoint
Opinions
Is a judgment based on certain facts
Conclusion
Statements that express convictions that are not easily and clearly explained by facts
Beliefs
Are statements that assume to claim to be truth and provide reason why the statement is true
Explanations
