How do we perform alternate picking?
A
Keep your fingers static and move your wrist and down. You should use your plectrum to strum both upwards and downwards alternatively.

How do we perform finger picking method A?
A
We perform this by using our thumb for the top two strings, and our fingers for the following three strings. Our little finger is planted on the body of the guitar for stability and the bottom string (high E) does not get used for this method.
