What do the lymph nodes do?
A
Clustered together with lymphatic vessels
Lymph enters the lymph nodes through afforestation vessels
Lymph nodes filter lymph and destroy bacteria and debris
Swollen glands are a local response to infection or trauma - LYMPHADENOPATHY occurs in chronic infection

Highly vascular Rich in immune cells Filters blood Stores erythrocytes (RBC) Removes old/ abnormal cells Stores iron Initiation of immune response

A
Located in the thorax
Regulates and matures T lymphocytes
Reduces in size over time
Secretion of thymosin

A
Found in the mucosal walls of the small intestine
Lymphoedema - swelling of a limb
