how does the lymphatic system play a role in fat absorption?
A
lacteals are special lymphatic vessels located in the lining of the small intestine; fat enters lacteals–>enters lymphatic circulation; mixes with lymph in the vessels and creates chyle
3
Q
how does the lymph system function as defense?
A
since lymph nodes are the only structures to filter lymph, they contain macrophages tgat can remove bacteria, microorganisms, and foreign substances–from fluid intake from fluid balance function?; lymphocytes, which dominate during infection, exist in lymph tissues
