Characteristics of lymph nodes and when should worry
A
AGE - usually benign in children
CONSISTENCY - hard and firm indicate malignancy
FIXATION - fixed indicated malignancy
TENDERNESS - tenderness are worrisome
LOCATION - supraclavicular has highest risk of malignancy epitrochlear always abnormal isolated inguinal less likely be malignant
SIZE - worrisome if 1.5-2cm
DURATION - nodes lasting longer than months and showing progression
ASSOCIATED SYMPTOMS - fever, night sweats, weight loss, bone pain, petechiae
