Muscle contraction, uses valves like veins

Why is fluid absorbed by lymphatic vessels from the interstitual fluid?
Higher pressure in the lymphatic vessels creases a hydrostatic pressure
What is lymph composed of?
Fluid and plasma proteins, gaining lymphocytes as its flows through lymphatic channels, and gaining fat in the small intestine
What allows fluid to enter lymphatic vessels?
Loose overlapping of walls, when pressure is on it, it moves and allows fluid in
What does lymph encounter a series of on its way back to the circulation?
Lymph nodes
Where is the first place that the immune system can see an antigen?
Lymph node
How many afferent and efferent vessels do lymph nodes have?
Lots of afferent and 1 efferent
Where are most nodes?
Axial
Where do superficial lymph nodes always go?
Into deep lymph nodes
Why are their lots of lymph nodes in the gut?
Ingest food their which is full of antigens and pathogens
How do tumours often spread?
Through lymphatic vessels
What route does lymphatic drainage follow?
Arterior supply
Where does lymph end?
Lymphatic ducts
