What are the Maastricht RFC areas and associated rules?
A - North of DVR, approx 8nm east of DVR
- RFC unlimited
- RFT by up to 10 degrees
B - Triangle south of DVR, 5nm either side of RINTI
- RFC FL340
- RFT by up to 10 degrees
C - East of A to boundary
- RFC unlimited
- RFT within confines of KOK buffer zone
What are the conditions for traffic routing via MOTOX?
When would S2 need to coordinate?
CDR available eastbound only
Min level FL350
Aircraft positioned on or south of L15
Coordination required:
- with S15 and/or Maastricht if below FL350 and within RFC zone B
- with Reims if traffic unable to make FL350 by MOTOX
What is the procedure for OAT to GAT traffic exiting UK FIR?
Swanwick Mil request joining clearance from French ACC sector via abutting LAC sector
What is the procedure for OAT to OAT traffic exiting UK FIR?
Swanwick Mil will either send CFP request or take 5 within LAC and handover traffic directly to French Mil
What is the procedure for GAT to OAT traffic entering UK FIR?
- Traffic will enter as normal
- Planner will pre-note relevant Swanwick Mil planner of the track (10 mins pre-note)
- Swanwick Mil will request LAC sector to pass Mil squawk and frequency to offering French sector
- Swanwick Mil will either send a CFP or take 5 on entry
What is the procedure for OAT to OAT traffic entering UK FIR?
- French Mil will handover directly to Swanwick Mil
- Swanwick Mil will either send CFP or take 5
What is the procedure for traffic on TACAN Link 4 (TL4)?
Swanwick Mil will control eastbound and westbound (OAT or GAT) and will either request CFP or take 5
What will OAT routing via TACAN Bravo 7 (TB7) to join UL9 at DVR be required to do?
Operate as GAT after DVR
When should headings be used (without coordination) with regards to civil and military traffic to Reims?
Due to proximity of L15 with TB3 (TACAN route) if less than 20nm horizontal distance between aircraft, headings should be used
Where is transfer of comms (at or before) and transfer of control to Maastricht?
Comms - 10nm east of DVR
Control - KONAN
Where is transfer of comms (at or before) and transfer of control to Brest?
Q sectors:
Comms & control - SITET
M sectors:
Comms & control - XAMAB
Where is transfer of comms and transfer of control to Reims?
Comms - between SANDY & RUCAC
Control - RUCAC
What levels may be planned to the 3 adjacent sectors?
Brest:
- Any eastbound level
Reims (via MOTOX)
- Eastbound, min level FL350
Maastricht:
- Eastbound only above FL315
- Any westbound level FL360+ is permitted for ED, ET, ELLX, LFSF
When LUS is split, who is responsible for convergence at BIG of eastbound traffic from S5/35 vs L15 southbound traffic from DTY?
S24
When LUS is split, who is responsible for convergence of eastbound traffic from S5/35 vs eastbound traffic from S36?
S2
When LUS is split, who is responsible for eastbound and westbound traffic between S12 and S19/20 vs eastbound traffic via BIG from S5/35/DTY?
What must be done if any level change required?
S24
Strip must be rammed if level change required
When LUS is split what is the procedure for northbound traffic via OCK (Q3/UM185)? (x4)
- S24 will skip and pass on any SCCs to S2
- S1 will transfer to S2 ideally on own nav
- S2 may turn left as far as AVANT-HEMEL track without coordination
- S2 responsible for ensuring any coordination with S34 is communicated to S24
When LUS is split what is the procedure for southbound traffic routing N866 (BPK - SAM)?
- S2 transfer to S24
- S1 may elect not to work before transfer to S20
When LUS is split what is the procedure for southbound traffic routing UL980/L620 (LAM/BIG - MID)?
Will be transferred from S2 to S1 unless S24 elect to work
When LUS is split what must be considered by S2 when sending westbound traffic direct to ICTAM?
Point out must be sent to S1 if any traffic positioned south of track towards ICTAM
What is the procedure regarding overflights from S19 to S1? (x4)
- S19 will offer at a westbound level
- S1P may accept at ODL but is expected to change NFL to eastbound level
- S19 will ascertain if aircraft can accept higher on first contact - if unable this info is passed to S1P
- Aircraft on hdg is RFT right only subject to danger area activity
What is the max level MTMA depa are offered and what are RFC conditions?
FL310
RFC FL350
RFC unlimited after northern edge of DTY corridor
What must S2 consider when climbing an MTMA dep via BIG when LUS is split?
Must be coordinated with S24
What level bys are DTY to use to ensure MTMA deps achieve FL310 by LMS boundary?
H’s/JC - 60nm before SAM
E/E2 - 65nm before GWC
Vs - 60nm before MID
P - 90nm before SFD
