Mark Anterior
Perpendicular to L4 (iliac crest), entering mid coronal plane

L5-S1 Projection and Collimation
A
- Center on a coronal plane 2 inches posterior to elevated ASIS and 1.5 inches inferior to iliac crest
- If spine is not horizontal tilt 5 for men and 8 for women

AP Oblique RPO / LPO
A
- CR is perpendicular and enters 2 inches medial to elevated ASIS and 1.5 inches above iliac crest

Lumbar Spine Projection’s with Collimation in order, you would do them:
A
- AP, Perpendicular at Level of iliac crest (8x17)
DO NOT CHANGE COLLIMATION, Simply roll patient onto side
- Lateral, Perpendicular entering midcoronal plane at level of iliac crests (8x17)
- Obliques RPO/LPO Perpendicular, entering 2 inches medial to elevated ASIS and 1 1/2 inches above iliac crest

-L5-S1 5-8 Angle On Coronal Plane 2 inches posterior to ASIS and 1 1/2 inches inferior to crest

Always mark side down!!
