Medical cardiac arrest >/= 9 years old

LUCAS CPR - Contraindications (6)
A
- Traumatic cardiac arrest
- <9 years of age
- Known NFR
- Patient too small (alarm 3 fast signals, unable to enter ACTIVE/PAUSE modes)
- Pt too large (unable to lock upper plate to back)
- Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) in situ

LUCAS CPR - Complications (6)
A
- Minimise manual compression interruptions during application
- Do not leave untattended
- Defib pads will need to be moved away from the suction cup
- Sedation may be required (to avoid CPR interfering consciousness)
- Rib fractures
- Damage to abdominal viscera if placed too low
