LUCAS CPR - Contraindications (6)

A
  1. Traumatic cardiac arrest
  2. <9 years of age
  3. Known NFR
  4. Patient too small (alarm 3 fast signals, unable to enter ACTIVE/PAUSE modes)
  5. Pt too large (unable to lock upper plate to back)
  6. Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) in situ

A
  1. Minimise manual compression interruptions during application
  2. Do not leave untattended
  3. Defib pads will need to be moved away from the suction cup
  4. Sedation may be required (to avoid CPR interfering consciousness)
  5. Rib fractures
  6. Damage to abdominal viscera if placed too low
