-Branch of the LUMBAR PLEXUS
-Derived from the Anterior Rami of Nerve Roots L2,L3 and L4
What is the Position of the FEMORAL NERVE in relation to the Inguinal Ligament?
The Femoral Nerve passes BELOW the Inguinal Ligament
Where does the FEMORAL NERVE lie within the FEMORAL TRIANGLE?
The Femoral nerve lies LATERAL to the Femoral Artery and Femoral Vein

Hip FLEXTION

MUSCLES OF THE ANTERIOR COMPARTMENT OF THIGH:

- Pectineus
- Iliacus
- Quadriceps Femoris
Does the FEMORAL NERVE innervate the PSOAS MAJOR MUSCLE?
NO
- The nerve passes through the Psoas Muscle, but DOES NOT Innervate it

- Anterior and Medial Aspect of the Thigh
- Medial Aspect of the Lower leg
- Medial Aspect of the ankle
