br. of lumbar plexus (L2-3)
sensory & postganglionic sympathetic innervation of the skin overlying the lateral aspect of the thigh
Saphenous n.
br. of femoral n.
courses through the adductor canal
sensory & postganglionic sympathetic innervation of the skin overlying the medial aspect of the leg
Perforating cutaneous n.
br. of sacral plexus (S2-3)
function- sensory, postganglionic sympathetic innervation of the medial part of buttock
Posterior cutaneous nerve of thigh
br. of sacral plexus (S1-3)
function- sensory, postganglionic sympathetic innervation of buttock and uppermost medial and posterior surfaces of thigh
Sural n.
br. of tibial n.
function- sensory & postganglionic sympathetic innervation of the skin overlying the lateral aspect of the leg & foot
Lateral sural n.
br. of common fibular n.
function- sensory & postganglionic sympathetic innervation of the skin overlying the lateral aspect of the leg
