What was life in a mediaeval town like?
The poor people in times lived in wooden houses and the richer people would live in houses made of stone. Mediaeval times only had about 1000 people living in them and the largest had 5000 rebuilt on rivers or coasts that people can make money from trade. Most of the houses were wooden and were very endanger of catching on fire most houses had a curfew and had to extinguish their fire by a certain time if their house was made of wood
What were wooden houses like?
Most houses stories high and usually craftsman had their shops or workshops on the ground floor with their family living on the floor above houses had no toilet instead people used a dung heap.
What were the streets like?
Streets were very narrow with small houses. This means that disease could spread very easily as so close.
